AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE, I FEEL THE SAME. ALL THAT I HOPED WOULD CHANGE WITHIN ME STAYED LIKE A HUDDLED, MOONLIT EXILE ON THE SHORE, WARMING HIS HANDS A THOUSAND YEARS AGO. I WALK WITH OTHERS IN THE YEARNING TO GET OUT, CLAW AT MY SKIN AND GNASH THEIR TEETH AND SHOUT. ONE OF THEM WANTS ONLY TO BE SOME ONE YOU'D ADMIRE. ONE WOULD AS SOON JUST THROW YOU ON THE FIRE. AFTER ALL IS SAID AND AFTER ALL IS DONE, GOD ONLY KNOWS WHICH OF THEM I'LL BECOME.( Read more... )

Did anyone else see anything sort of strange in Diagon Alley this morning? This woman walked right up to me and told be to beware the Ides of March. Here's hoping she doesn't try to assassinate anyone.
WARDED TO JD EMPLOYEES + INVESTORS.We have only two more days before we need all our St Patrick's Day orders completed. We should have all the cakes finished by tonight so we can deliver them tomorrow and focus on the smaller orders. It's a good thing I like the colour green.
Also, do any of you have any idea where some one could get bouillabaisse?

Even though Mondays are technically the same as every other day, there's just something about them that really is the sodding worst.
WARDED TO HEATH.If I ever get married, no strippers. Promise.

It's been nearly a week and I think I'm still recovering from all that baking leading up to Valentine's Day. It doesn't help that kind of stuff they're playing on the wireless these days isn't exactly relaxing.
WARDED TO THE TRAVERSES.I need your help.

WARDED TO DP EMPLOYEES + INVESTORS.I hope you're all ready for tomorrow. It's going to be busy, probably from the minute we open the door to the minute we close. Tara and Prisca, we're going to need you to work by yourselves for a bit this afternoon. Heath and I have to run an errand. We won't be long, but we need to make sure you're prepared to run it by yourselves for an hour or so. So, make sure you're ready first thing. And I don't know if you're going to be busy all day, Felicia and Camilla, but we could probably use the extra help. And Camilla, you could make up for punching me earlier. Just a suggestion.
WARDED TO HAZEL NOTT.Heath told me what happened to Tamsin. I just wanted to let you know that if you need anything or some one to blow off some steam with, I'm here for you.

WARDED TO DEATH EATERS.I'm sure most of you've heard about the little present we left Amelia Bones last night. Hopefully that'll get the message across loud and clear.
WARDED TO JD EMPLOYEES.What do you all say to a holiday this weekend? You know, before things start going mad for Valentine's Day. We could go to France and make fun of all the berets. I think getting out of England for a while might do us all good and people can handle the bakery being closed for a few days.
What's everyone's favourite thing to do while on holiday, particularly a holiday in France? And if shopping's the answer, you can just refrain from comment. There won't be any shopping taking place.

With all the people going on about getting sick this past week, you'd think the plague had broken out across Britain or something. Fortunately, we've been trying to keep people who're ill out of the bakery. Nothing worse than eating food prepared by some one who's breathing germs all over the place, so none of us is allowed to become ill. And we'd rather not have ill people coming round in order to limit the chances of passing it on. In light of all that, I'd like to remind people that we offer delivery services for a small fee (owl upkeep is a bit steep these days, yeah?), so if you're ill and craving dessert, you can have your cake and keep the bakers illness-free, too.
And on a briefer, more serious note, it seems like it'd be worth reminding people that the Order of the Phoenix, even though they've insisted they're helping people, have already been categorised by the Ministry as terrorists, right? Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but since when was terrorism a good thing? This is why I just stick to baking.

Not sure I've seen Diagon as slow as it was today for a long time, but it must be the holidays dying down, not to mention the full moon getting everyone off the streets so early. With any luck, by this time next year, the bakery will have loads of new things for people to try for the holidays. Peppermint, pumpkin and cranberry happen every year and they've gotten boring, as far as I'm concerned. Next year, maybe some turkey fairy-cakes or clove-scented biscuits that taste like carrots. People love holiday dinners, so why not carry the flavour onto desserts as well?
Overall, it wasn't a bad month for us. My only complaint about the season is that Mudbloods seem to think it's an excuse to bring their families into Diagon, which is all fine as long as they keep track of them. I suspect a Muggle wandered into the shop a few days ago and didn't have the slightest clue what I was saying when I started telling him about these gillyweed hippies that wandered in a few hours earlier. And there's another complaint, but unfortunately, that one's not just limited to holiday shopping.
